The St.Andrews-Wesley Combined Church in Vancouver, Canada, was the location for the world premiere of “The Wandering Heart”, a themed song performance by Ēriks Ešenvalds featuring poetry by Canadian songwriter and Grammy Award winning artist, Leonard Cohen, as announced to the Baltic News Service by Ieva Vītiņa, the producer of the State Academic Choir “Latvia”.
Additionally, the male choir “Chor Leoni”, under conductor Erick Lichte, performed the world premiere of the opus “The Dream We Carry” by Canadian resident, Latvian composer Imants Ramiņš, which incorporates the poetry of Norwegian, Olaf Hauge.
Also performing at this concert, were the British Columbia Girls Choir, and male choir “Promys”, which, together with “Chor Leoni” performed Ešenvalds composition “Zvaigznes” (Stars), under the baton of the composer.
Kanādā noticis pirmatskaņojums Ērika Ešenvalda dziesmu ciklam “Klejotāja gars” (“The Wandering Heart”) ar kanādiešu dziesminieka un “Grammy” balvas laureāta Leonarda Koena (Leonard Cohen) dzeju, aģentūrai BNS pavēstīja Valsts akadēmiskā kora “Latvija” producente Ieva Vītiņa.
Vankūveras Sv. Andreja-Veslija Apvienotajā baznīcā sestdien vīru koris “Chor Leoni” diriģenta Ērika Laita (Erick Lichte) vadībā pirmatskaņoja arī Kanādā dzīvojošā latviešu komponista Imanta Ramiņa opusu “Mūsu sapnis” (“The Dream We Carry”), kuram izmatota norvēģa Olafa Hauges (Olaf Hauge) dzeja.
Koncertā piedalījās arī Britu Kolumbijas meiteņu koris (British Columbia Girls Choir) un vīru koris “Promys”, kurš kopā ar “Chor Leoni” Ešenvalda vadībā izpildīja viņa kompozīciju “Zvaigznes”.
