The Grand Music Award (LMB) is the supreme Latvian state award in music and is organised by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia and Latvijas Koncerti (www.latvijaskoncerti.lv). The high prestige of the Grand Music Award both in wider community and in musical circles is ensured by the work of a respectable jury. All through the year, the members of the jury attend concerts and hold monthly meetings, taking minutes each time. In 2007, it was decided to announce the nominees at a special Ministry of Culture press conference in early January while the actual holders of the prize are to be made known during the award ceremony. This means that the voting on the nominees takes place in January whereas the voting on the prize holders takes place on the very day of the award ceremony.
The following nominations were recently released for 2015.
Among the nominations recently released for 2015 was pianist Ventis Zilberts for life long service and for Latvian academic musical popularisation throughout the world was given to Dace Aperāne.

„Lielā mūzikas balva” (LMB) ir augstākais Latvijas valsts apbalvojums mūzikā. LMB augsto prestižu gan sabiedrībā, gan mūziķu aprindās nodrošina respektablas žūrijas darbs, kuras dalībnieki visu gadu apmeklē koncertus un ik mēnesi satiekas sēdēs. Janvāra sākumā žūrija izvirza LMB iepriekšējā gada nominantus, par kuriem paziņo īpašā Kultūras ministrijas preses konferencē, un tikai pirms paša LMB pasniegšanas pasākuma notiek žūrijas balsojums par laureātiem.
Nominanti 2015. gada balvām tagad izsludināti un pianists Ventis Zilberts saņēma par Mūža ieguldījumu, un par Latvijas akadēmiskās mūzikas popularizēšanu pasaulē nominācija saņēma komponiste Dace Aperāne.
