The Latvian Youth Assoc. of Australia (LJAA) is very proud to announce Latvian Voices concert in Melbourne and Sydney.
Latvian Voices will be performing at The Melbourne Latvian Hall (3 Dickens St, Elwood, VIC) on Sunday, Jan. 10th at 2pm and at the Sydney Latvian House (32 Parnell St. Strathfield, NSW) on Monday, January 11th at 7pm. Tickets: $20/15, children under 12 complimentary entry.

Seats are not allocated. In Melbourne doors open at 1:30pm and the tickets office open from 1pm.

Latvian Voices is an a cappella vocal group from Latvia – the Land that sings! With their voices as the only musical instrument girls from Latvian Voices have developed a unique individual vocal style, in which ethnic musical intonations of many nations intertwine. The most significant role in this kaleidoscope is allocated to Latvian folk music supplemented with elements of traditional choir music and popular music. Most of the repertoire is arranged and composed by the members of the group, which makes Latvian Voices a truly unique phenomenon.
The repertoire of Latvian Voices is wide: Latvian folk songs and original compositions with lyrics from Latvian traditional folklore, examples of Classical music in inventive transcriptions. The concerts are usually enriched with arranged melodies of popular and worldwide known songs as well as modern original compositions by Latvian Voices. Latvian Voices consider their main mission to be the introduction of Latvian culture and especially the musical heritage. Through songs and staging they introduce the listener to Latvian mentality and world-view that is deeply rooted in the mutual relationship between humans and nature. Most of the concerts Latvian Voices give outside Latvia and very often the group represents their country in international representative events. For this reason in 2014 Latvian Voices became the musical ambassadors of Riga2014, European Capital of Culture.

Latvian Voices koncerts notiks svētdien, 10. janvārī, plkst. 14:00, Melburnas latviešu namā un pirmdien, 22. janvārī, plkst. 19:00, Sidnejas latviešu namā. Biļešu cena $20/15. Bērniem līdz 12 gadiem, ieeja brīva. Biļetes var rezervēt zvanot Rūdim Dancim 0412 637 427 sūtīt e-pastu: rudis@bigpond.com vai arī iegādāties pirms koncerta. Melburnā biļešu galds strādās no plkst. 13:00 un durvis uz zāli tiks atvērtas plkst. 13:30 Lūdzu ievērot, ka sēdvietas nav numurētas.
Latvian Voices ( grupas oficiālais nosaukums) ir slavena akapella vokālā grupa no Rīgas. Latvian Voices ir radījušas individuālu vokālo stilu, kas kā vienīgo instrumentu izmanto tikai balsis. Lielākā daļa grupas repertuāra ir pašu grupas dalībnieču aranžēta un komponēta, kas padara Latvian Voices patiesi neatkārtojamas.
Grupa tika dibināta 2009.gadā un ir piedalījusies dažādos starptautiskos mūzikas festivālos, konkursos, meistarklasēs, kā arī pēdējos Dziesmu un Deju svētkos Rīgā. Latvian Voices ir sniegusi koncertus Eiropā, Amerikas Savienotajās valstīs un tagad arī Austrālijā.
