White Tablecloth Celebration of the Restoration of Latvian Independence
On the 4th May all Latvians will celebrate the renewal of Latvia’s sovereignty after decades of Soviet occupation. Around the world Latvians come together for the ‘festival of white tablecloths’ to celebrate their nation’s renewed independence.
The Latvian Centenary events officially begin on 4th May when Latvians worldwide come together to celebrate the restoration of Latvian Independence. This simple idea of family, friends and neighbours sharing a meal at white clad tables – a great opportunity to discuss the future of Latvia and that of your community. We have celebrated this event before in Adelaide and continue the tradition this year.

Priekšnesumi – Pūtēju orķestris, Adelaides Latviešu skola, „Dziesmu laiva”, DV koris „Daugava”, TDA „Auseklītis”, „Četri kaķēni” kopdziedāšana.
Varēs iegādāties kāpostus, desiņas, kafiju, kūkas un atspirdzinājumus.
Lai Baltā galdauta svētki kā Latvijā, tā arī Adelaidē, būtu saikne starp visām paaudzēm
un kļūtu par nozīmīgiem svētkiem mūsu ikgadējā kalendārā.
