In the small Latvian town of Aizpute an interdisciplinary group named ‘Serde’ seeks to develop regional and international collaboration between different culture fields, organizations and professionals. Serdes main activities involve the exchange between culture, science and education fields, including the organisation of residencies, workshops, seminars, lectures, presentations etc.
Recently Serde held an apple festival where the many traditions, recipes and uses for apple were shared. UNESCO recently accredited Serde as the only non government organisation in Latvia and the Baltics in the intangible cultural heritage field.
‘Serde’ ir biedrība, kuras darbības mērķis ir veicināt profesionālās mākslas attīstību Latvijā, attīstot reģionālu un starptautisku sadarbību starp dažādu nozaru kultūras un mākslas organizācijām un indivīdiem piedāvājot reāli funkcionējošu vidi un infrastruktūru ārpus ierastās centrālās pilsētvides.
Jau sesto gadu sezonas noslēgums „Serdē” tiek svinēts ar āboļošanu, kas šogad ir īpaša. Spēju darboties dažādos līmeņos augstu novērtējusi UNESCO, kas nupat akreditējusi „Serdi” kā vienīgo nevalstisko organizāciju Latvijā un Baltijā nemateriālā kultūras mantojuma jomā.
